The Pileci family has a long history in designing and manufacturing. Raffaele started his career in 1924 by designing and carving furniture for the upper echelons of Italian society. Each and every product he custom made for this select clientele was unique and truly a piece of art.
Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Antonio Pileci is a leading designer and manufacturer of artifacts for the automotive industry, who also has a passion and a vocation for inventing new products. Born in the South of Italy, and having studied in Italy and Great Britain, he has business interests in many countries and shows no sign of slowing down.
10 years ago, Antonio found his love and nothing could stop him from entering the glamorous world of fashion. He had been dreaming of fashion design for years and he started it as a hobby. With help from his daughters Francesca, Anna and Sofia, he established his own label, AP, dedicated to bringing true beauty and a crisp and fresh originality to the world .
It seems that an artistic streak runs in the family. Caroline Pileci inherited her talents from her grandfather, Stanley Taplin, who was a famous London designer and manufacturer of lingerie and fashion clothes.
The three daughters, Francesca, Anna and Sofia, inherited a double dose of talents from both sides of the family tree and it shows in their designs, in their originality and elegance. Naturally all three girls studied at the best schools and graduated from Central Saint Martins, Laban and Goldsmith colleges in London, majoring in Art and Design. Their designs, together with their father's classic leather bags and accessories, are manufactured from the best Italian leather. These talented young designers bring a modern, fresh, trendy yet elegant look to the AP label.
